Can
you help with any information?
We're hoping that you will be able to give
us information that in return will help us
and other visitors to identify things like
people, places, buildings, streets, dates
and events. Any facts supplied will be added
to the relevant photo. >

Do you
know where a photo was taken? Could you take
a photo of the same location now?
Over time we are hoping to find more and
more about the locations pictured in the
photos and we would be very grateful to
anyone who is willing to take a photo in the
same location and submit it to us to include
in a "Then & Now" section of the website
that we are hoping to set up in the future.

What
camera did Thomas use to take the photos?
We think the camera was a Sanderson ¼ plate,
but according to research we have done that
make and type of camera were only introduced
in 1904, meaning Thomas must have been a
very early user. View the >
About < page for
more background information about Thomas.

I
submitted some information for a photo but
it hasn't appeared yet. Why?
We are dedicated to updating the site when
new information is submitted, but we also
have full time jobs that do take up a large
part of our time so we do apologise if it is
taking us longer that you expected but we
promise we will add the details in due
course. |
I have
some photos could I add them to the
galleries?
With all due respect the site is dedicated
to Thomas Shires' Collection of photos. We
feel that adding others photos not taken by
Thomas would stray away from the focus of
the site.
Alternatively if you have a collection of
photographs that you would like putting on
the internet we are sure Cowlingweb would be
interested in hearing from you -
